ABOUT RENOVATION

The Srimadanantheshwara Siddhivinayaka Temple in Madhur, Kasaragod is the sacred abode of the all - encompassing divine presence of Lord Ganesha and also a coveted destination of lakhs of pilgrims from all over India and abroad. The endearing elephant - headed Lord Ganesha, the son of Siva and Parvathy, enjoys prime place among all the gods in the Hindu pantheon. He is Para Brahma incarnate, the God of Wisdom and Learning, the Remover of all Obstacles and is worshipped first before any other god. Today thousands of devotees flock to the feet of Lord Ganesha at Madhur seeking eternal salvation from the bonds of Karma and solace from the evils of Kaliyuga. Regretfully; this beautiful edifice of the Temple of Madhur has suffered the ravages of time and consequently is in a state of disrepair. Though there have been some efforts to renovate the temple in the past years, they have not borne fruit. But the time for such renovation seems to be ripe now. The temple, which is under the direct control of the Malabar Devaswom Board of the Government of Kerala, has approved the renovation of the temple. A committee for this purpose has been formed under the stewardship of Sri Sri Sri Keshavananda Bharathi Swamiji of Sri Edanir Mutt. The Committee has been active in soliciting the support of devotees as well as the Devaswom Board to renovate the shrine in three phases and has submitted cost estimates of about Rs 25 crore.
